Bookish Goals in 2024

02.11.24 | leave a comment

In the new year, I almost feel like January doesn’t count. It drags on, yet flies by, and next thing we know we’re well into the year. My overall goal this year has been to slow down, rest more, and relax. As such, my reading goal this year is 100 books, 75 fewer than the number I read in 2023. I want space to be in a  reading slump, and I want to reach for the big chunky books calling out to me without thinking about how many books I’ve read. Don’t get me wrong, reading several books and counting them is fun for me, but I can still do that with a goal of 100.

Books I want to read:

The Final Gambit and The Brothers Hawthorne

A Heart So Fierce and Broken and A Vow So Bold and Deadly

CC2 & 3

Gideon the Ninth

The Hero of Ages

Razorblade Tears

Masters of Death

Babel

A fairly obvious goal is to complete series I’ve started. I also need to go back through the YA section of my shelves, which was neglected too often last year.

Releases I’m excited about this year:

Lore of the Wilds

The Age of Magical Overthinking: Notes on Modern Irrationality

A Tempest of Tea

This isn’t even close to everything, but I have yet to organize a list of books I need to keep an eye out for!

Bookish goals:

Revamp this blog! I’ve missed writing in a larger space that’s all mine with no hashtags.

Post more reels and tiktoks – this is honestly intimidating, sometimes difficult, and often fun.

Start writing my book – I’ve had ideas in my head and partial outlines for years, now, and I’m ready to get them on paper

Diversify my reading – I did not do as good of a job at reading diversely in 2023, so I’m going to put in an effort to do better. One category I’ll be adding to what I’m looking for is neurodivergent characters!

Book journal – I’ve started and abandoned too many of these, and I think the trick is going to be to simplify it as much as possible so it’s more fun and less of a task.
